The ASE is an interdisciplinary school that integrates earth and environmental science, ecology, engineering and technology, human ecology, humanities, and the social sciences address key environmental challenges related to climate change, geohazards, sustainability and global environmental change, with focus on Southeast Asia. We aim to:
- Provide a scientific base for mitigation of and adaptation to natural hazards and global environmental change, for safe and sustainable communities in Southeast Asia.
- Provide information and policy advice for urban planning, natural resource management and exploitation etc., as well as media and education.
- Train students for leading roles in tackling environmental challenges, with a broad spectra of career opportunities, both in public and private sectors and academia.
